Welcome

  • **Thanks everyone for being here! *Financials Current balance is $8,852.42
  • Only deposit was Penny War money
  • **PTO purchased sandwiches for P/T conferences, not reflected in this balance.*Penny Wars Raised $589.67
  • Winners were 4th and 2nd grade, will get popcorn recess at some point soon
  • Staff lost by a lot :)
  • Successful? Yes, but not as much as last year
  • **Perhaps switch up reward next year: outside lunch, etc.*Parents’ Night Out March 24, 5:30-7:30pm at Delta High School
  • Put on by DCSD and Parent Accountability Committee
  • Keynote speaker: Ben Tracy on the Impact of Social Media
  • Breakout sessions include IEP/504 plans, PowerSchool, Parenting with Love and Logic, Nature Connection outdoor activities, Mental health, etc.
  • Pizza and childcare will be provided
  • **Flyers will go out in next Tuesday folder (already posted on social media)*Color Run April 11; all day focus on health and wellness
  • DHS Interactive Club volunteers are happy to help set up and keep track of laps
  • Serve fruit and veggies at lunch (mini peppers, grapes, berries)
  • *Read-a-thon, “health talks” from community members and/or DMS Sources of Strength, read books about health and wellness to classes**Looking Ahead: Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-9
  • Need to nail down ideas by next meeting!
  • **Proposed ideas: coffee truck (may be out of our budget); chair massages from TCR students (TCR no longer has massage program); facials from TCR students (not sure this would be appreciated)*Mr. Renfrow Outdoor classroom area and playground was vandalized, perpetrator was caught and has repaid the money
  • Picnic tables for outdoor classroom are next big-budget fundraising item
  • Discussion of possible budget cuts from the state and what that means for the district as a whole, and GMES in particular
  • *School districts should have more guidance by March 17th**Other Parking issues in pickup loop in front of building. Parents can’t get out due to too many people parking in loop for too long; parking on both sides of loop with no room to drive through.
  • **Maybe use paint to denote areas for brief parking and areas for driving****Next meeting will be Wednesday, April 2nd at 8:30. **
