PTO Summer Leadership Meeting

Survey for Back-to-School Night
- Try to get more parents involved
- See survey questions in separate document
Fundraising
- Purpose: field trips (fall fundraising), Christmas books (book fair), school beautification (spring fundraising/Color Run)
- Idea: get in front of teachers for about 15-20 minutes during Teacher In-service (Aug. 10-14) asking teachers to help with parent buy-in. PTO can provide teacher’s lunch that day.
- Fundraising idea for fall: hat/beanie or hoodie
- Order between September 14-October 5th; money due by October 9th
Book Fair
- Book Fair would be during the week of Sept. 28, during conferences.
- Book Fair will be held during and after school, and during Special Visitor Lunch
- PTO provides dinner for teachers one night of conferences. Daveto’s?
- Stay with Scholastic, or go with another company?
- Would Mrs. Starr be willing to help?
Christmas
- Kickoff to Christmas/12 Days of Christmas
- Begins on Dec. 3
- Decorate Teachers’ Lounge on Dec. 1; take down on Dec. 18
- PTO will provide breakfast for teachers one day, most likely cinnamon rolls from Starvin’ Arvin’s
Color Run
- Friday, April 9, 2027
- Run similar to the past few years, with some changes
- Ideas: have 3 groups of helpers from DHS: food prep, cafeteria, Color Run
- Recognize top runners (details to be determined later)
- Lap size needs worked on
- Otter Pops for students after running
Teacher Appreciation Week
- May 3-May 7
- Talk with Ms. Jenny Urich about theme for the week
- PTO will provide goodies for teachers each day that week
- Principal Appreciation Day (April 30): can we coordinate with StuCo to do something fun to celebrate Mr. Renfrow, similar to what DMS did for Mr. Craig last school year
