April 8, 2026

8:35-9:30am

Treasurer Report

  • Blanket reimbursement money received, promptly spent on fruit/veggies for Color Run
  • Kroger check due soon
  • Expenditures through end of school year include teacher appreciation goodies, Sonic gift cards for top blanket sellers in each class, and plastic bags to distribute blankets to classrooms

Blanket Fundraiser

  • Blanket ETA is end of April
  • A HUGE thank you to Deb Brunner for making this happen!

Special Guest: Jessica McGrath with the Nature Connection

  • The Nature Connection is a non-profit organization that operates under the Delta County School District umbrella, whose mission is to get kids outdoors
  • The Nature Connection is organizing a Ride your Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 6
  • Nature Connection staff as well as Delta police officers, Delta Health staff, and parent volunteers will help guide “bike train” of kids
  • There will be a pre-planned route, but details are still being worked out
  • Watch for more info coming soon!

Color Run

  • Color Run will take place April 10th, the Friday before April break
  • Fundraising through Zeffy; funds raised will go towards school beautification projects
  • PTO will serve fresh fruit and veggies to students. Pediatrician Dr. Andrew Astin will come in and give “health talks” to students
  • Color Run will be run the same as in the past several years: kids divided into groups with colored wrist bands, high school students keeping track of laps, PTO members throwing chalk

Teacher Appreciation

  • The week of May 4-8
  • PTO will provide some sort of food each day

Kid Appreciation

  • New idea from Jenna Valdez and Franny Esplin
  • Provide a small treat for all students during lunch on the last Fridays in May
  • Treats include popcorn, Kool-Aid, some sort of candy

PTO Officers for 2026-2027 

  • PTO will need a new Vice President and Treasurer
  • Let Jenna Valdez or Mr. Renfrow know if you’re interested in either position

Open Discussion/Mr. Renfrow’s Business

  • CMAS going well. Kids love the notes from their families and especially from their former teachers
  • Short discussion on field trips, how many each grade goes on, etc.
  • Awards: is there a way to more widely recognize Awesome Kid and Principal Award recipients?
  • Discussion on staffing changes for next school year. No formal decisions have been made, but it looks like some cuts may be likely.
